Guide

How waste collection quotes work

There is no standard price for a clearance. Understanding what affects the quote helps you give the right details and compare fairly.

What affects the quote

  • Volume: how much waste there is.
  • Weight: rubble, soil and concrete are far heavier than furniture or green waste.
  • Type: some items need special handling or separate disposal.
  • Access: stairs, distance to carry, parking and narrow lanes.
  • Time: how long the job takes and how soon you need it.

Give more detail, get a better answer

Send a list, a photo of the whole job, your postcode and details of the access. The more accurately the job is described, the more reliable the quote is, and the less chance of it changing on the day.

Questions to ask

  • What is included in the quote, and what is not?
  • Where will the waste be taken?
  • What paperwork will I receive?
  • Is the carrier registered? Check the register.
  • How is the price confirmed if the job turns out larger than described?

Agree before you book

A good quote is written down or confirmed in a message, with what is included and the collection arrangements. At KB Waste Removals, the quote and the collection are discussed and agreed before booking.

Questions people ask

Can you quote from photos?

Photos help a great deal. Kev may still ask questions about access or weight before confirming.

Is the quote fixed?

Ask what happens if the job differs from the description. Agree it before the day.
